The challenge of the changing climate between mathematical models and agriculture: two popular lectures in Florence by Roberto Buizza and Pierdomenico Perata, full professors, invited by the Tuscan Academy of Science and Letters La Colombaria

Two divulgative lectures to reflect on the Climate Challenge, with the participation of as many ordinary professors from the Sant'Anna School (Roberto Buizza and Pierdomenico Perata) have been included in the programme of the next initiatives open to the public of the ancient and prestigious Tuscan Academy of Science and Letters ‘La Colombaria’, a cultural institution based in Florence, founded in 1735 by the scholar Giovanni Girolamo de' Pazzi.
The first event is scheduled for Thursday, 26 September, starting at 4.30 pm. Roberto Buizza, full professor of Physics of the Earth System, Planets, Space and Climate at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Sustainability and Climate at the Sant'Anna School, will speak on Observations and Models for Knowing and Predicting Climate.
The second event is scheduled for Thursday 17 October, starting at 4.30 pm. Pierdomenico Perata, Professor of Plant Physiology at the Institute of Plant Science of the Sant'Anna School, will speak on the Challenges of agriculture in the new climate horizons.
The events are open to the public (in the premises at Via Sant'Egidio 23 in Florence) and are also shared live on the Accademia's Facebook page. Recordings are available on the Accademia's YouTube channel in the following days.
